Before Aussie Hoops comes Mini Hoops — a gentle, play-based introduction for our youngest players. Midweek daytime sessions build movement, balance and basic ball skills through games and fun, with a parent or carer right there alongside them. It's the very first step into the WBA community.

Junior DomesticFord Aussie Hoops is Basketball Australia's premier beginner program designed specifically for kids aged 5–10. Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or developing their early skills, it's a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where children of all abilities can learn, grow, and fall in love with basketball.
Our program focuses on skill development, building self-esteem, and teaching social cooperation through organised sport — all while making sure every participant has maximum enjoyment on the court.

Ford Aussie Hoops is delivered in three progressive stages, ensuring participants engage in activities relevant to their physical and mental capabilities.
Kids learn basic ball handling, movement skills, and the fundamentals of the game through fun, age-appropriate activities designed to build confidence and enjoyment.
Participants build on foundational skills, developing dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques alongside basic teamwork concepts that prepare them for cooperative play.
Activities increase in competitiveness as kids prepare to transition into local club domestic competitions, applying their skills in structured game situations.
Sessions run across four locations throughout school terms. Registrations for each new term open at the end of the previous term.
Plus $4.50 BV + $5.00 BA association fees.
